Hi all,
There are a TON of geo-related events happening in Washington, DC this week. I wanted to share some details on them so you can plan to join in where you're interested.

Tonight is the US Geospatial Intelligence Foundation "Young" Professionals Meeting. Contrary to its name, this ALL ages get together of folks involved in the geo and intelligence communities. They'll kick off with a "live-action spy adventure" at the Spy Museum at 5:45 pm, and head to Gordon Biersch at 7:00 pm for drinks and conversation.

Wednesday, MapStory hosts its first DC meetup where they'll launch a new local initiative to get people mapping their communities. Expect some examples of what people are doing already and some introductions to local mappers. This meetup is at Bus Boys and Poets (14th + W) from 7:00 - 9:00 pm.

Thursday, as I've posted about here before, is FedGeo Day - a one day conference discussing modern, open geospatial tools and how they can and are being used in government. It's looking to be a packed event, but there are still a few tickets left if you want to register. There will be a happy hour after from 5:00 - 7:00 pm at Iron Horse - all are welcome, so come out even if you can't make the main event.

Lastly, this week is also the ESRI Federal Users Conference, which started today and runs through Wednesday. See their website for schedule details.

Hope to see you out this week, and remember, the next GeoDC meetup is next Wednesday

Cheers,
Bonnie
