GeoNames to Directional Region

Hello,

I was wondering if there was a way to find the directional region where a county is located? For example, I would like to place "Miami-Dade County" in "Southeastern Florida" or "Bay County" in "Florida Panhandle". I can't find any feeds that will let me associate county (or even city) to a region other than the country/state/county. I want to be able to do country/state/region/county. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
