geo-atompub-interoperability-day

From Charlie\47s email:

Sean and I are going to spend some time making sure our differentimplementations of APP/Atom/GeoRSS/etc. play well together.  Are otherpeople on the list interested in participating.

We haven't sketched out any details yet, but maybe something similar towhat the APP working group does.  So:

* First pick a few examples where we'd like to achieve interoperability
* Do a bit of groundwork to see where we stand
* Then spend an afternoon (a day) working together to hash out anyproblems.  We like to schedule this for next week or the week after. For those who don't live nearby, we could set up an IRC channel or somesuch.

Geometry Representation

I (Sean) have been using GeoRSS Simple but am considering a switch to simple GML like Picasa (recommended by Gregor). Anybody planning on bringing something different Let\47s restrict the lists to representations that make sense within Atom. JSON isn\47t XML, and Ruby-specific XML doesn\47t belong in Atom.

Sean: GML (like Picasa)

Andrew: GeoRSS Simple, GML, W3C-Geo, KML2.2, JSON (not quite Geo- yet). 'XML' (vanilla) - both input and output

Hammock: writes GML (georss:where/gml:Point/gml:pos)

Mush: reads georss:point, am working on GML point

Accepted Media Types

See http://bitworking.org/projects/atom/draft-ietf-atompub-protocol-17.html#accept

Sean: Atom entries + KML placemark documents

Andrew: GeoRSS, Atom, KML, 'XML', JSON - both input and output

Other Capabilities

Andrew: Mapufacture aggregates AtomPub links - so I\47d like to demonstrate an AtomPub editable service syndicating out, aggregated via Mapufacture and an AtomPub-enabled client able to edit the original service

Has anyone implemented nested resources within ATOMPUB?
Question is:
when you do a GET on that resource, how do you include the nested
resources? Do you use the "sub-collection" tag and then add entries under
it?
Just checking.
Thanks,
Pat.

Hi Linda,
I'm logged in but don't see the button. Hmm...
Is this a permission thing Sean or am I just blind?
