Hi Sean,
Yes we did. I am not fully happy with REST in name, at least couple of
reasons. GeoREST is bringing more then just REST API, eventually we didn't
even published REST API yet. And I agree with you, REST API naming becomes
more and more abused. On the other side, learning about and working with

 Jason, Haris:
Congratulations. Did you ever consider not branding your project with
"REST"? Just the other day I counseled some folks against doing so
because the term is inevitably headed down from the peak of the hype
cycle, watered down by too many insufficiently constrained "REST APIs"
and sucked dry of meaning by too many powerpoint slides of some lazy

You mean "sensor observation service"? That's read-only (right?) and
there's already an alternative to that in Atom. You mean enumeration of categories (or "tags") in the OpenSearch
description doc? I think this is better left to the collection
description since categories are also a big part of the data creation/
editing story. It's like the DRY principle applied to data/service
description.

--

It would be nice
if general web search, opensearch incorporated these types of
atom:categories(or something RESTfully oriented similar) as search

A
location in relation to a document might mean - where it was written,
where the author lives, that the MAIN subject of the document concerns
the location referenced (although many documents might reference many
