Dear all, I am pleased of announce the release of the alpha version
for the next gelato release codename Vaniglia.
In addition to several bugs fixes we are glad to present the following
list of new features:
- Archive (very cool)
- Removed (finally) textile formatting
- Post format on HTML
- WYSYWYG editor and NOT WYSIWYG editor with toolbar.
- Completly rewritten theme's engine (a lot of new tags availables).
- Localization on themes.
- New video and MP3 sources.
- Read API
- Plugin engine.
With the plugin engine we already have defined only a few actions
(hooks) for testing purposes, a full list is being compiled (
http://code.google.com/p/gelatocms/wiki/PlugginEvents ), please review
the plugins in order to learn how to write them.
The new theme engine is not documented yet, please if someone wants to
help with documentation (not only for themes is required) are welcome.
The most important thing:
PLEASE DO NOT USE AS PRODUCTION TUMBLELOG, ONLY FOR TESTING PURPOSES
This alpha version is not ready to replace your actual gelato
tumblelog, there is not an update script, only fresh installs for
TESTING purposes.
Please be nice with this version is only an ALPHA ;)

I'll try the software so that I can find any bugs (if there are bugs).
Also, I could write that
template-related documentation, since I would like to work on this
project very much.
Congrats on the release.
Is this alpha release based on the rev310 on the SVN?
How would you like us to report bugs?
If based on the SVN, do you want us to report bugs on the Google Code
site? (I did already file one there last night, when you were pushing
one rev every 2 minutes).
Glad to help on anything!
