So, hivemind google - as part of my MSc dissertation I've made a
ground-breaking, earth-shattering, paradigm-changing, utterly bog-standard
Android application. It uses my employers data and we'll release it for
free at some point relatively soon.

I'm tempted to open-source the application in part because my guess is that
a chunk of the climbers that are members of The BMC are also coders and
might contribute to it. Also, cos I guess I'm less likely to lose the
source code in a dusty draw then :-)

I wondered what pitfalls people on here think I should be aware of?
