Hello,

am I missing something or is playing of partially cached files broken?

If I understand correctly, then the reason for disabling this are apple.com
trailers? I'm using your plugin on over 20 sites and never used apple.com.

For me, this change makes your nice plugin unusable... :(

Only apple.com and quicktime files are fully downloaded before playing
because mplayer crashes. In some additional situations the file
metadata is stored at the end of the file, so in those situations
gecko-mediaplayer needs to wait until this metadata is present for
mplayer to play the file. Upgrading mplayer may solve this issue in
some cases.

You are right. I got fooled by a GUI bug in gecko-mediaplayer with embeds that
set "autoplay" to "false".

In this case, mplayer doesn't clearly show when it's ready to start playback. I
always see the "pause" icon but I expected to see the "play" icon as soon as
gecko-mediaplayer is able to allow me to start playback.

After some time (have to guess for the right time) I just hit the displayed
"pause" button and playback starts...

Could you please check your plugin with a embed where "autoplay" is set to
"false" and fix this small bug for the next release?

Thanks in advance

Yours

Manual,

autostart is set to "true" by default.

please test your browser with this page

http://mplayerplug-in.sourceforge.net/testing/testvid.html

The video should autostart.

Websites can override this flag by setting the "autostart=false"
attribute in the embed element on the page.

But if I override, then gecko mediaplayer behaves "ugly" (pause button instead
of play button, if I click this pause button, then it stays a pause button but
playback starts).

Probably just a button state issue that needs to be fixed. Nothing
major it is just showing the wrong icon. I'll see if I can fix, but
most likely the button will be "disabled" until playback is possible,
so you will not be able to override it anymore. So you may not like
that option either, but it will be more correct.

It will be better, as this way it would be also easier to see when I may
manually start the "non-autostart" video.

The only thing, that is important, is that a "non-autoplay" embed doesn't
automatically start playback.
