google.gears.factory.create('b eta.desktop');
google.gears.factory.create('b eta.canvas');
Recently, Google Gears arrived to end of life, stopping new functions

Will installer be available elsewhere ?
|
| |
As "Gears is deprecated and will no longer be available as of December
2011", is there another way the current (last) version can still be
installed after November 2011?
I know there is a portable version for FireFox 3.6 but no "normal"
installer for say IE7 and IE8.

Gears install page gone
|
| |
It seems the gears.google.com page that previously hosted the Gears
installer now redirects to the "Stopping The Gears" blog post so users
are no longer able to install Gears.
Does anyone know where we can download a copy of the installer for
running gears on IE?

then I couldn't use Google Gears anymore and I wanted to use it... more »

Gears for Firefox 4
|
| |
I am beginning to expect that Gears is the culprit in the widely
experienced outage of Google Suggestions in the Firefox header box.
When can we expect an update for Firefox 4 for Mac?

USB attached GPS for geolocation?
|
| |
Hi all,
Using geolocation seems to work very well when browsing via my phone
-- with GPS turned on I get very accurate positions shown to me in
HTML5 sites that use geolocation. However, when I connect a GPS
device to a laptop (via USB, for example) the browser does not seem to
use it...and probably isn't even aware of it at all. Instead, it... more »
