It seems the gears.google.com page that previously hosted the Gears
installer now redirects to the "Stopping The Gears" blog post so users
are no longer able to install Gears.

Does anyone know where we can download a copy of the installer for
running gears on IE?

I found a copy of GearsSetup.exe on a download site, by searching for
"GearsSetup.exe Download".

As did I, but it seems to download the actual installer from google and it
seems likely that the way they are going they will make it unavailable.

I have obtained the old install page and the current win32 installer, along
with several Linux ones, does anyone know how to reengineer this stuff so we
could host our own installer for our customers?
