Hi,
I'm using google apps with my own domain, via google.com/a/<my
domain>.

Even though I've installed Gears, I can't use google docs in offline
mode with google gears.

However, if I log into my regular google account, I can use google
docs in offline mode with google gears.

Is this a limitation that will be removed anytime soon?

Hey PHATRS --

You should be able to enable it by turning on "get new features" in the domain setting section.  For now we don't explicitly make it available because we are ironing out bugs with it.  Let us know if it works :)

Hi Ben,
Just to clarify, are your referring to the "Domain settings" page in
my Google Apps account?

Yes, that is correct.

Hi, im having the same problem...

I don't get a Google Gears Sync Icon next to the "Settings" link when
i use a google partner account (the one with google.com/a/<mydomain>)
in Google Docs.

I logged into my admin account and i enabled the USE NEW FEATURES
option in domain settings but still no sync icon...

Why is that happening? Did they stop supporting gears for partners?

Thank you so much.

Hey Killer --

What browser are you on?

Thanks,
Ben

This is KillerSilver, using my partner account.

At the end it worked for me, i had to wait like 1 day for it to become
active after ticking the New features box and saving changes.

I'm using Firefox 3.0.1.

Thanks, it's working wonders now.

That's good to hear :)

I also have enabled that selection in the domain settings, but I do
not see the gears icon. I have had the new features boxes checked off
since I started the domain (roughly a week ago).

Any suggestions?

Thanks,
Corey

Hey Corey --

Sorry for the delayed response.  Have things been fixed?  Periodically, Apps for Domains get updated with the feature.  Hopefully yours has been updated.

Regards,
Ben

No prob, thanks for responding.

Our Apps domain still does not support gears.

When you say "Periodically, Apps for Domains get updated with the
feature." Do you mean that some has to "flip the switch" to turn
gears functionality for each partner page individually?

To clarify, my gears installation does work with other sites (i.e.
Remember The Milk).

Thanks for the help,

Corey

No problem, thanks for writing back.

No, it still isn't working.

feature." Do you mean that someone has to "flip a switch" for each
domain individually?

It's been a few weeks now that the domain has been active. To clarify
any browser problems, gears does work with RTM.

Thanks again for the help,
Corey

Hey Corey --

Could you send me your domain's address so that we can look into this further?

Feel free to send it privately.
