Suggestion --> Disable / Remove Browser Buttons like back, forward and refresh

Hi all,

i dont know if this is done easily using browser interfaces. i would
love a functionality that could disable or remove specific buttons
like back, forward and refresh.

do you think this is a good idea?

Hey Christian --

You can do this with popups (http://www.javascript-coder.com/window-
popup/javascript-window-open.phtml). However, I think that fudging
with browsers' chrome (especially buttons that are very important to
users) is out of the scope of what we do. What are you trying to do
that disabling those buttons would help with?

You might also have a look at this library which puts control of back/
forward back in the hands of your application.

BTW, even if it were possible it might not be a good idea to disable
refresh. There are cases where your application can get into a hosed
up state (technical term) and refresh is the only way out.
