Hello,

Google has finally released Google Gears 0.5.30.0 which works just
fine with Firefox 3.5.1 . :D

Simple re-download and re-install at http://gears.google.com/ .

You know if you have the latest version if you visit the download page
and it says:

Gears is installed
Current version:
0.5.30.0;official;opt;win32;firefox

Enjoy,

Will

Good news. Any idea when 0.5.30.0 will be available for Mac
and Linux users? Still at 0.5.29.0.

Had to uninstall 0.5.29.0! Not a smooth update though... Something is
broken but now it is OK. BTW, Google Toolbar 5 has not been updated
yet for Firefox 3.5...

I second this.

When will gears be updated for Mac and Linux users? I go to the http://gears.google.com/
page and see no link (i have a freshly installed version of 3.5.1).

I am having the same issue on with 3.5.1 running OS X with a fresh
Firefox profile. Looking forward to support.

I have exactly the same problem.
I have 3.5.1 running OS X and I cannot see any option to install on
the screen whatsoever. There is just a blank space where the install
option should be.

I had the same problem: "I cannot see any option to install on
the screen whatsoever. There is just a blank space where the install
option should be."

I solved it by removing Gears from Safari (http://code.google.com/
intl/en/apis/gears/install.html).

But, as far as I can tell, OS X is still not supported.

However, as far as I can tell Gears still does not work w/ F3.5.1 on
OS X.

I've un-installed Gears from both Firefox and Safari now, yet still,
when I go to gears.google.com I see no link to a new Gears install.

If anyone from Google is listening, when might we expect to see Gears
working with Firefox 3.5.1 on OS X? Just a brief official statement —
"in a couple of weeks", "2024", "never" — would suffice.

It has been quite some time now with no official word. This is a
little ridiculous for an organisation with Google's resources!

I'm using the Nightly Tester Tools 2.0.2 to override compatibility
checking in ff 3.5.1, but that means I'm stuck using gears 0.5.29
until they make an official release for the mac, plus it says "(Build
#############)" at the top of my browser window all day long which is
getting old quick. Can someone try installing 5.30, if you get a
blank, make sure you disable gears as a Plugin AND!!! as an Extension,
the restart FF and hit up the gears dl page, that might work.

I was able to install the latest on Ubuntu 9.04 by going to
http://dl.google.com/gears/current/gears-linux-opt.xpi.
