Mac Chrome beta... and Gears?

We have a Gears app that we've been developing. Excited about today's
Google Chrome for Mac Beta release, I went to use our app... and found
out that Google Chrome doesn't support Gears.
I verified this in gmail, after reading that offline support for Gmail
had been made official. Still no luck.
Is it true that gmail won't go offline in Google's own browser on the
Mac?

Just adding my 2 cents of frustation... Yes! Where is Gears for
Chrome on Mac???

Oh, probably the same place as Gears for Chrome on Linux. Yeah, I know
that doesn't help but I do share your frustration. ;)

I'm maybe wrong, but I think on the chrome repository they put the
priority on HTML5

That's great, but when will offline GMail arrive with HTML5 support in
full browsers? iPhones already use HTML5 for pseudo offline.
