Does anyone have an init.d script for CentOS by any chance?

Thanks

There should be a support directory inside your uncompressed gearmand
directory which contains gearmand.init

From your downloaded gearmand directory you can issue the following commands:

sudo sed -i 's:/usr/sbin/gearmand:/usr/local/sbin/gearmand:'
support/gearmand.init

sudo cp support/gearmand.init /etc/init.d/gearmand

sudo chmod a+x /etc/init.d/gearmand

sudo chkconfig gearmand on

The above commands worked fine for me on RHEL 6

Excellent. Is this information in the docs? Or should I have known?
Just curious

Let's keep this list civil please.

Elia,
Many open source projects provide an init script. If they do not, you
can normally find an package manager with one. The details on how to
install init scripts are pretty standard and can be found with a
google search. Another option is to join the #gearman channel on
irc.freenode.net and get some assistance there.
