YouTube has made a new JSON-based API available to developers.

Developers currently using the XML-based Google Data API for YouTube should migrate their applications to use the new YouTube API and the Objective-C library for JSON APIs, https://code.google.com/p/google-api-objectivec-client/

This is great news. However am I correct in believing that if we're using the objective c client there won't be any change? (because the YouTube service returns objects, not XML or JSON)

Existing apps using the XML API will continue to work. The XML API library will no longer be upgraded to support new features or to fix minor bugs, however.

The JSON API is more efficient and easier to use, so it is a good idea for apps using the XML API to convert to the new library.
