Subject: Bit of an Emergency.

Hi the Group.

Just received an email from one of my tutor colleagues, Colin, informing me
that our TACT club has been offered a monthly spot in the Seniors Newspaper.
Good for the club but a bit of a problem - the deadline for December is
Wednesday the 2nd.

At this time I do not have an image disc of Ubuntu 9.10, although I have
asked Colin if he can produce a couple. If these turn up there will be no
problem, but if the GCLUG can promise some in the next day or two, I would
appreciate that.

My thought is, that with an assured supply, I will be able to write a
paragraph to submit to the Club Reporter over the week end for insertion
into the article. This would be on the lines that your group have expressed
an interest in helping senior Ubuntu users - and that would mean that those
adopting Ubuntu would be by no means, alone.

By the way, how often has quality software - incuding operating systems -
damaged the electronics or electronic parts in a computer? That against
those parts being of limited quality burning out or just ceasing to work?
Interesting :)

Regards to All,

Mike H

Hi Mike,

I've got a bunch of old Ubuntu cd's not 9.10 - they have nice packaging and
all that - but could certainly burn a couple of 9.10 dvd's if needed (I'm
sure a few others would be able to as well).

We're starting up a http://goldcoastgeeks.com website (haven't got around to
uploaded the design - maybe this weekend) which will deal with this market.
eg: Local linux support for Seniors, Beginners, Corporates and Home
Businesses

If we get some sort of website up over the weekend maybe that can be
included in your article - they will be able to visit the website to ask
questions and/or request someone to come out to give them some support.

hope that makes sense - bit late brain fried

Thanks,
Dave
