We have not announced whether or not we will be holding the Google Code-in
contest again this fall yet. True, you will be too old to participate in
the GCI contest should it occur this fall, but you can always contribute to
open source software projects on your own.

If you would like to participate in the Google Summer of Code program in
2013 (if we run it again) having some experience working with open source
organizations is always a plus. You would be eligible to participate in
GSoC next year if you have been accepted into a university program for the
summer or fall session of 2013 by the deadline that in previous years has
been in April.
