Subject: Deploying beta1 to production

Hi folks,
Now that Peter's reported an "all's well" on the beta1 site, and I'm *fairly* certain that whatever Don hit it's not a regression (debate on that point is welcome), we should talk about what is needed to get the new environment to production.  I don't have a timeline in mind for this, and I have no idea what y'all were planning in terms of servers.  I recommend using virtualenv, but will defer to Andrés and Jochen on that point.  In particular, if we're going to be doing VMs and it's going to be easy to recreate a new server instance, the concerns addressed by virtualenv are less of an issue.  Also, if anyone wants to see something else happen on beta1 in terms of testing before we deploy, please speak up and I'll see if I can either do that myself or facilitate it somehow.

thanks,
-henry

I would like to here from Andres what changes in the server setup are
still necessary and what his schedule would be. We need to get away from
the old server so that we can cancel that one and save the money.

The one thing are the date time displays, which somehow changed.

The setting would be via DATETIME_FORMAT
https://docs.djangoproject.com/en/1.4/ref/settings/#datetime-format

But I have no idea why it does show differently in the current site
where we don't have this variable set ? Anyway, we should use the
international current format.

Did you read the release notes in regard to the 'support for time zones' ?
