New issue 935 by lgraja...@humboldt.org.co: Resource Relationship Extension
invalid element (scientificName)
http://code.google.com/p/gbif-providertoolkit/issues/detail?id=935

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Go to administration
2. Import Resource relationship extension
3. Check new extension elements list
4. Element (scientificName) doesn´t exist in extension documentation
http://rs.tdwg.org/dwc/terms/index.htm#ResourceRelationship. Element
(resourceID) http://rs.tdwg.org/dwc/terms/index.htm#resourceID doesn´t
exist in the extension after ipt imports.

What version of the provider software are you using? The version should be
displayed in the footer of any page.

What browser are you using?
Chrome

Please provide any additional information below.

When we import resource relationship extension we can´t map resourceID
element according Darwin Core Extension
http://rs.tdwg.org/dwc/terms/index.htm#resourceID

Thanks

Thanks Laura Valentina from for reporting this

also we want to point that the problem is on extension XML
that is comsumed by IPT and is published in
http://rs.gbif.org/extension/dwc/resource_relation.xml
it has the scientificName element that it shouldn't have and
it hasn't the resourceID element that it should have.

I would have thought you could put the resourceID in:
http://rs.tdwg.org/dwc/terms/index.htm#relationshipOfResource According to
its definition: The relationship of the resource identified by
relatedResourceID to the subject (optionally identified by the resourceID).

Can you please elaborate why you feel term scientificName should't be
included in the extension please?

it is missing the resourceID because this is implicitly given via the
coreId. You only declare the other resource of the relation. Why there is a
scientificName part of the extension honestly I dont know. I doubt it is
unintentional, but its not documented why it is there. We should rightly
consider removing it at some point.

ok Markus, thanks for clearing us the issue about the resource ID.

so, we are going to ignore what's going to be mapped in scientificName
element of the extension since it isn't clear why the element is there.

thank you.
