On December 9th, the Supreme Court of Canada released its response to
the government of Canada's reference on marriage ("The Proposal for an
Act respecting certain aspects of legal capacity for marriage for civil
purposes"). The decision was unanimous. To date 28 judges across the
country have validated our equality rights.
Many of our friends south of the border are considering a move to
Canada after President George W. Bush's election win. Conservatives
prevailed in all 11 states where gay marriage bans were on the ballots.
This group is an extension of my site www.gayspaces.org. I am looking
for homeowners who would be willing to billet people on a short-term
basis while they explore employment and housing options here. Making
this important move may require them to make several visits to their
intended town or city.
The service is also available to our American friends who might need a
place to stay briefly while job or house hunting in our country. This
is a totally free service!
I hope this discussion group (on my favorite search engine) will also
help people to connect and express their feelings on the subject.
Hugs...
