3.2.18 - Can't make changes within the Template Manager (Joomla 2.5.3)

I've just installed the new 3.2.18 release, but I can't make changes
(Style, Feature, Layouts, etc.) within the template manager. The
control elements (such as buttons, list boxes, etc.) have no
functions ?!?

Whoa... hold everything guys this is not the release.. I have seen this come and go as well.. This is a YASC with a twist. (Yet Another Script Conflict). Gantry writes to its own params.ini file for wich it needs the permission first off, deactivate any fancy >htaccess files you dreampt up, then if you have more than one Gantry template reset any menu item specific settings and start again working your way forward through the config process per template Item specific conflicts in multiple templates will freak it out. Here is a must have plug for Javascript conflicts put it at the top of your plugins order before everything except admintools if your using it. Reset the custom configs, turn off htaccess when developing as well as any sef you may be using and try to stick with one template to start. Hope this helps

Hi Rob,

thank you for your help, but it didn't solve the problem.

1.) I've installed Joomla 2.5.4 once again local without example data
(.htaccess ist not used)
2.) Installed SC jQuery, brought it on top
3.) Installed Gantry 3.2.18
4.) The problem still exists

Any ideas?

Hmmm,

I am running J1.5.25 perhaps that’s part of it. I'm not going to touch the
2.0 platform until at least 3.0 that’s the Long Term Supported release.
I recommend you down grade at least for now I know it sucks but Templates
are a big issue in 2.0 Let me do some research I will send you my config and
see what you think. Sorry I couldn’t give a quick fix but then nothing about
Joomla is quick. Keep the thread open though we'll get it. Hell I can even
send you a compressed version of my build if it takes its cherry ;)

Hey man yeah I see it. Listen I just upgraded to the latest version gantry
3.1.2 it seems to be intermittent if I go out and back in it clears up.
It’s a real beefy platform. Ill let you know if I find anything that can
actually help instead of my opinions thanks. It may just be a bug after all

Aren't we mixing up our version numbers. The subject header says 3.2.18, so why have you sent us an attachment with Gantry 3.1.2. Much better to start another thread if you want help with this.

I've got the same issue. Other Joomla installs on the same server
running slightly outdated gantry/joomla versions are still working
fine.

No htaccess files. Totally clean joomla install with nothing installed
other than JCE editor.

My browser reports an error on gantry.js - "Error: b is null"

Looks like a conflict to me!

You are wrong, J 2.5 is a LTS (the next will be 3.5):

J1.5 reach end of life this month, so if you want to keep it updated
against hackers... good luck! :)

My advise is migrate your sites to J.2.5 ASAP, Im doing that for my

We released an updated version yesterday to address this issue. Was an outdated reference in. The XML file of the rt_gantry template. If you have created a template based on rt_gantry you might want to diff the XML. Don't have the exact details handy at the mo as I'm not at my computer.

If you had written a custom template based on the default Gantry template (rt_gantry) , the updated Gantry library Andy mentioned might not still fix the issue. If after the update your admin is still not allowing changes, please edit the template-options.xml found in your custom template and look for the entry:

        <fields name="menu" type="selectedset" label="MENU_CTRL">

            <field name="enabled" type="toggle" default="1" label="SHOW" />

and change it to 

        <fields name="menu" type="selectedset" label="MENU_CTRL">

            <field name="enabled" type="toggle" default="1" label="SHOW" enabler="true" />

This fix has been applied already on the latest version of Gantry.

Rt-gantry was updated on local server to latest version, but somehow that didn't do the trick. So a manual change did the trick! Thanks!

I had the same problem but I figured it out.

I uninstalled the Bundled package.  Then I made sure

the default template in Joomla was selected.

Then I re-installed the Bundle package.

then I went to manager listed all installed and sorted them by Template.

then I looked for Rock... listings and made sure all of them where Published.

I found the Rock installer was not, so I clicked the Red sign and turned it Green

afterward I went to Template manager

and there it was!
