Hi, I'm Josh, long-time lurker, one-time g4c game developer. ^_^
I'd love some help trying to find an organization that could connect my new game with their community, and I'm not totally sure the best place to look.
I'm currently developing a game entitled That Dragon, Cancer about my dev partner Ryan Green and his wife Amy’s experience raising their son Joel, a 4-year-old currently fighting his 8th tumor and his 3rd year of terminal cancer. It's a very accessible game that's part poetry, part allegory, part "hospital life", and all game-for-change. :)
In fact, we experienced first hand that we've already changed people based on demos and resulting press from our rough GDC prototype, and we're currently in discussion about potential publishing / distribution.
Part of this has involved a conversation about finding some kind of partner that would help us reach a community outside of the normal indie games bubble. We'll connect with some people through those channels, but our real potential lies with people who don't really identify themselves as gamers, especially parents in their 30s or parents who play mobile or casual games.
We would love to connect with a large community of people through some kind of cause-based organization that can act as our partner. What are some good ways to find this partner, preferably in the next month? Cold calling seems like a crappy way to do it. I would greatly appreciate other suggestions.
Thanks,
Josh
P.S.
I'm surprised no one has mentioned Indies Crash E3 on this list yet. Based on popular vote, a few of the top nominated games on the site get to go to E3 to demo their games. We would love to get selected and represent the G4C community. Project Neumann is clearly going to make it, but we're an underdog and would love your support to make sure two of us will be there!
If you feel so inclined, you can vote for us here:

P.P.S.
Thanks for the plug from the @G4C twitter. :)
