Subject: RAR Support, OS X Testing
I spent the last day cleaning up the really messy unrar sources into a
small library with a clean interface for accessing RAR archives in
memory. I've got a basic implementation working and will be cleaning up
the model for release. I've also gotten an unzip library to add support
for zip archives too. This makes it really convenient to play SPC sets
from snesmusic.org: just download and double-click.

I also finally got some newer OS X installer CDs (10.2.4) and am
running OS X on my ancient PowerMac 8500/400 (with G3 upgrade card).
Graphics are fairly choppy but I can now develop and test the player on
OS X. It would never have been very practical to try to debug issues on
OS X without easy access to a machine running it.

Subject: Re: RAR Support, OS X Testing
I've successfully installed Mac OS X 10.3.9 (the last update of
"Panther") and tweaked the player a bit for it. I wasn't able to
reproduce a crash that was reported when fast-forwarding an SPC track.
If I can get the code tools to install, I'll be able to run with more
debugging enabled.

I've got RAR archives working quite smoothly now. I need incorporate
some new code to handle zip archives in the same manner.

Peformance is quite good. Running on a PowerMac 8500 with 400MHz G3
processor card, 1MB L2 cache at 200 MHz, 384 MB of main memory running
at 50 MHz, with Mac OS X 10.3.9, CPU usage:

4%      Nintendo
4%      Game Boy
3%      Master System
15%     Sega Genesis
16%     Super Nintendo

I need to write a bit about the user-interface and why it's not
polished, and about what kind of feedback would be useful from users.
