Meeting on Wed 7th Nov?

Hi,

Does anyone know if there is a GLUG happening tonight (Wed, 7th Nov)
in Deri. I picked up the event from Andrews wiki page http://linux.andrewg.com
but I'm not sure if it is still going ahead. Can anyone confirm a
time, if so?

Hi,

We went ahead with a meeting last night at the DERI building. Turnout
was significantly down on the first meeting - I think we agreed to
hold these meetings on the first Wednesday of each month so assume
there is a meeting on 05-Dec-2007 in the DERI building @ 2000 unless
you hear otherwise (can someone from DERI confirm that we will be
allowed to use that room again?).

Last nights meeting saw 6 of us sit around and discuss some of the
following:

- Linux/Open source alternatives to Microsoft Small Business Server
for Small to Medium Businesses.
- A brief discussion of what programming languages people are working
with and what tools they are using on Linux for their development.
- A chat about content management systems and the semantic web
(interspersed with some rambling about what my company does with
both .. apologies for that part :)
- A discussion about the Great Galway Linux User Group Installfest
(GGLUGI!) to be held in the DERI building on Saturday 17th of November
from 1000-1200 (or thereabouts - the reactions of people to the
suggestion of kicking off at 0900 makes it clear that GLUG is composed
largely of nocturnal creatures ;) - I'll follow up on this in another
thread, we need everyone to make an effort if this is to go well.

We should be fine with that room unless there's a conference happening.
I can confirm nearer the time, but it's safe to assume it's free for now.
