The lecsonaudio and galeaudio sites are currently getting spammed by someone with an IP address located in Brisbane, Australia.

For some reason they think you’re interested in all sorts of useless items at the rate of a couple of hundred spams per day- today it’s designer handbags.

Although you’ll never see them, they are wasting a great deal of my time to make sure they don’t post and slow down the response time of your messages getting through.

I may shut off comments to both sites for a few days and see if they’ll move on-  will let you know.

Thanks,

John

Thanks for fending them off John, a tedious business to be sure and your efforts are very much appreciated.

Is it always the same IP that they post from? If so it might be worth seeing if it is possible to block it within the admin section of the site and/or complaining to the 'abuse' address, if indeed nslookup (or whatever tool you are using) shows one.

Hi John,

YES, there are lots of nice spammers around the world......

IF they are using some kind of forum mail address, just delete it and create a new one.
If they are trying to apply as members, you can ignore them anyway,

Easier said than done, I know, but as long as sending a million spam mails just costs you between 1-5 $ nothing can stop them!

As for the designer handbag:  Why not take it as a hint for Christmas!? Your wife might appreciate it a lot !?  ;)))

Generally spam is sent from a hijacked IP address. Chances are that the Brisbane account holder has no idea that spam is being sent from their account. The perpetrator could be anywhere in the world. But if you know which ISP is involved, they will usually shut off spam activity if they are supplied wit the IP address.
