At Tuesday's meetup, come get your new RFID cards! We finally
(((FINALLY!))) received the cards we've been waiting on, and their
unique IDs have been assigned to members and programmed into the
homemade door controller. (See attached picture.)

If you're in the following list, please show up to receive your new card:

- Allen R.
- Ben G.
- Ben K.
- Bill
- Chris L.
- dcamp
- Galadriel
- Jeff
- Big Jim*
- Manny
- Mark S.
- Marly
- Martin
- Quinn
- Will

This card gets you 24-hour access to the downtown space, and it can
even be used to make your wallet slightly fatter than it already is!!

* Big Jim can't make it this week, so his card will be kept in a safe
place until he can pick it up.

Is there any way mine could be left for me at the old space or mailed to
me? Back's acting up again today so I can't come paint :(

On a different note, there is a router at the old space, right? Is
there somebody who could meet me there sometime later this week or next
week and give me a basic rundown on how to use one? That's something
I'd really like to learn.

Thanks!

I can't do it this week or next (out of town) but I would be willing to do "Router Basics" at the next demo night.

Mr. Rout as it were...
Anyways where does one park for the new place? And don't say downtown.

Hey Jason,

It's below the Sun Center's main floor, so I think the appropriate place
to park is in the Sun Center main parking lot.

Yes, that would be good. I have never used a router table so I would enjoy learning about it.

Hackerspace attendees can park in the Sun Center lot as long as
they're actually downstairs in the space. However, there are far more
spaces available in the GRU lot (which is okay to park in after 6pm):

We'll keep your card safe for you until you can pick it up.

Clint and Allen: "Router Basics" would be a great demonstration! Would
you like to put this on as a Demo Night demo, or would you prefer hold
a dedicated event at the old space?

I would prefer regular demo night at the new space... a router is small enough that it should be ok there.

Allen, do you think the router table is ok for showing in the new space?

Dont forget the amount of dust and chips those things throw off, the old space may be a better choice , just a thought.

You've got a good point, Frank; I'd been musing about it. My
reflection on it is thus: these might represent points on the 'Messy'
edge of the conceptual space of stuff we can do in Le New Space. I
wouldn't go into large scale production there, but messy demos should
not be verboten.

The convenience of the downtown space has the possibility to redefine
the hackerspace as a group that doesn't do fabrication at all, if we
let it. I think we should make messes, clean them up, and then
reflect on whether it was too much of a PITA afterwards.

I'll bring my shopvac.

Demo Night is on the 3rd Tuesday every month, so the next one will be
October 16th at the Downtown space. Doors open around 7:00, and
presentations begin around 7:30.

B-b-b-be there!
