renaming saved files

I have saved many maps on my iphone 4 for use off line on the PCT but
would now like to rename some of them. I have tried retrieving a
saved map and typing a new name in the white box over the existing
name then hitting "done". The file is temporarily renamed, however,

I was under the impression that a kml file attached to an iphone mail/
email could be saved and associated or loaded to Gaia GPS, without
having to use itunes on a computer to move the file.
However whenever I tap or tap hold the attachment, all I get is a
message that Mail cannot handle the file.... more »

cancel download

Is there a way to cancel a download? I started a big download that I
would like to cancel but can't figure out how on my Droid razr. I
tried deleting the map but it won't delete while the download is
going. So now it appears I must wait for the download to finish before
deleting it...

If I download maps to my iphone can I then later move the maps back
and forth between my iphone and my pc using one of the windows/iphone
file managers? I would think this capability would be determined by
whether or not the map files are somehow hidden from the file manager
and only accessible by gaigps.... more »

does Gaigps support formats created from Oziexplorer?

I have an iphone 3G and I'm considering using Gaigps.
I have previous experience with Garmin, Lowrance, Fugawi and
Oziexperlorer. Up till now I've used the Ique 3600 garmin and fugawi
features.
Is it possible to make my own maps on my own PC, ie not be dependent

iOS Export email KML not showing up in mail.app

I have not dug too far into this yet. When I export via email on
iPhone the resulting email message has two attachments, a gpx and a
KML file. When I send the email to my gmail account, mail.app in OS X
Lion only gets the gpx file, no kml? When I look at the emai lon the

Alaska USGS maps

My old version of Gaia GPS had USGS topo maps of Alaska. However,
after I upgraded my PHone OS to 5.1, my Gaia appwent away. The new
Gaia app I just downloaded fhas only ESRI maps of Alaska, which much
inferior to the USGS maps as they don't show structures, powerlines,
etc. Anybody know how to get good old USGS topo maps of Alaska on... more »
