I upgraded my gaia-gps for iOS last night and after I finished, I tried to restart the program and it quit. I selected the icon and the usual full-screen startup graphic appeared, but after a few seconds, it closed. This happened to me a few months ago, but the problem "went away", so I never found out the cause.

Could you please send me a crash log so I can look at what's going on? http://help.gaiagps.com/knowledgebase/articles/171260-how-to-report-an-issue

I'd like to see the log, but after that I'm sure if you deleted and re-installed the app it would start working. Can you do that - do you have data you would lose, or have you synced with GaiaCloud so you can restore data after re-installing the app? If you haven't synced with GaiaCloud and can't lose your data, we can rescue it, but it's a bit of trouble to do so.

I looked at the instructions as to how to get the crash log from the phone, but my version is old - 4.3.5. I can't find the Diagnostics & Usage window under General/About. I have avoided upgrading my OS because, in the past, I lost much of the information on the phone. According to Apple, my loss of information in the past is because I was syncing it using my Windows computer.
 
If I reinstall the app, how much data will I lose? All my saved tracks have been sent to myself, and I could always reload the maps. Or, I would sync my phone to my wife's Mac, but she (and it) are out of town until next week.

Hey Michael,

I'm sorry, but I didn't realize this was an issue with an older iOS. Reinstalling will not help.

Our app just will not support 4.X anymore. In the next version, which Apple is reviewing now, you won't even be able to install Gaia on 4.X.

I think I really must urge you to upgrade, and perhaps do a back-up before you do. Your programs will increasingly stop to work on iOS 4, because the last two generations of Apple devices don't support it. We'll of course provide you with a refund if you don't want to upgrade and can't use the program anymore.

I upgraded to iOS 6.1 and Gaia GPS returned, without having to delete and reinstall it.
