It's wonderful that I can now see multiple tracks in different colors
at the same time. I especially like how it automatically picks
reasonable colors for all my tracks. Now, it would sure be nice to be
able to point to a track and have it tell me which one it is, and then
go to the page to edit its color, name, or toggle it on or off. I can
find out which it is from the color, but only if I keep them all
unique.

Hi Morrie,

I was going to ask you to add this idea to our UserVoice page, but I see you have already done that.  Thanks!  This would be a nice compliment to having lots of tracks on your maps uniquely labeled in color.

Again, thanks for being so proactive and already adding it to the UserVoice page, we really appreciate the feedback.

Regards,
Savannah

Is it possible to turn off the track color? I turn my track to off, but when I load it I still see the track color being displayed. I am trying to figure out a way to take a track and when I load it have it only display the waypoints. Is there a way to change the settings some other way so that when I load a saved map it will display all of the waypoints associated with that specific map and and not display the track?

Thanks, Jason

Hi Jason,

I'm sorry but there is no feature to turn off the track's lines from your map but keep your waypoints. Would you please add this idea to the UserVoice page?   I could see this as a separate feature, or you could do this by adding on/off toggles to waypoints so that you could easily control which waypoints you see on a map the way that you can now control which tracks you can see on a map.

Again, I am sorry that we do not have this feature. Thank you for your feedback.

Savannah

Thank you for the reply. This would not be considered a bug with the program as I would think if I chose to not show the track then the track color would not appear on the map. Just to confirm then that waypoints are always associated with the track they are assigned to? Maybe a work around could be to upload a gpx file that only has waypoints and no actual track?

Thank for the help. I really like this app and your customer support is second to none.

Hi Jason,

The waypoints are associated with the track they are assigned to, but you can find them in your saved waypoints folder, but you cannot toggle on/off your waypoints the way you can toggle on/off your tracks.  Yes, you could upload a .gpx file that only has the waypoints and then you would be able to toggle them on/off as a track, just without the lines of a track.  I did that this morning with a users .gpx file of waypoints for the Lycian Way in Turkey and that worked perfectly.   Use that work around for now, but please put your idea on UserVoice as well for a toggle on/off switch for waypoint or for a setting to turn off the track and just show the waypoints of a .gpx file.

I am glad you are enjoying Gaia GPS, and our customer support. We really value the input of so-called "power users" like yourself, you guys really get to know the app and tend to come up with great ideas for its improvements.

Thank you,
Savannah
