renaming saved files

I have saved many maps on my iphone 4 for use off line on the PCT but
would now like to rename some of them. I have tried retrieving a
saved map and typing a new name in the white box over the existing
name then hitting "done". The file is temporarily renamed, however,
when I turn my phone completely off or turn off Gaia from running in
the background, I loose the new file name as the name reverts to the
oringinal. Does anyone know how to solve this issue?

Hi David,
Sorry about that, this issue is fixed in the latest beta version of Gaia. It looks like we are going to release that to Apple on Sunday, and then it will probably be live on the App Store Friday.
If you would like, you can send me the UDID for your device to and...@gaiagps.com, and I can send you the beat version to test.
