to Gaia GPS
My old version of Gaia GPS had USGS topo maps of Alaska. However,
after I upgraded my PHone OS to 5.1, my Gaia appwent away. The new
Gaia app I just downloaded fhas only ESRI maps of Alaska, which much
inferior to the USGS maps as they don't show structures, powerlines,
etc. Anybody know how to get good old USGS topo maps of Alaska on
their IPhone?

Hey Max,

I wanted to go ahead and post a response on the public list, though we emailed privately. Unless someone else can recommend a source in the meantime, the answer on Alaska topos is basically this:
  • The maps we used to use show USFS maps in Alaska, which gives some extra detail.
  • The ESRI maps are basically just the USGS topos. I am working on doping our own composite layer - hope to have full Alaska coverage restored sometime this summer, but it's slow going.
I will note that we'll of course provide a refund for any reason, especially for anyone in Alaska who doesn't get what they need from the app.

Regards,
Andrew

Hey Kamil,

You can also get to it through Settings->Help->Add Map Sources in the app.

There are several Alaska sources, including a USGS source we pay to include

Hey Andrew,

I just discovered Gaia GPS and found it great (as a concept). This, I(just purchased it... but unfortunately I can not find a topo map for Denali National Park in Alaska?
I need a response pretty quick since I should be in the wild this afternoon.
Is there a particular source which should I use?
