  If you&#39;re using gradle gaelyk plugin all should work as long as you put &lt;br&gt; your class in src/main/groovy/mypackage/ (not src/main/mypackage as you &lt;br&gt; stated) and import it in your groovlet. &lt;br&gt; &lt;p&gt;I&#39;m affraid that your problem has nothing to do with gaelyk guice plugin. :)

  Thanks for making it clear that GAE always use its own runtime. Although it &lt;br&gt; doesn&#39;t fix the problem, at least I get same result/error in development &lt;br&gt; and production. &lt;br&gt; &lt;p&gt;I have the following combination, now error in development. &lt;br&gt; GAE 1.7.6 &lt;br&gt; Java 1.6 &lt;br&gt; gaelyk 1.2 &lt;br&gt; groovy 1.8.6 &lt;br&gt; &lt;p&gt;I think GAE 1.7.6 and Java 1.6 are fine.

  I am still trying to fix the error in production. &lt;br&gt; I downgrade appengine sdk to 1.7.4, there are still errors. I upgrade to &lt;br&gt; 1.7.6, there are still errors. &lt;br&gt; java.lang.ExceptionInInitializ erError &lt;br&gt; at org.codehaus.groovy.reflection .ClassInfo.getMetaClassUnderLo ck(ClassInfo.java:162) &lt;br&gt; Not too sure what it means.

  Yup, Google just updated their GAE infrastructure, and removed the &lt;br&gt; deprecated Search API from their runtime, which was still referenced by the &lt;br&gt; version of Gaelyk you were using, hence why all of a sudden some of our &lt;br&gt; apps stopped working. &lt;br&gt; &lt;p&gt;I had the problem with some personal apps, my weblog, and the Groovy Web
