GAE now requires JDK 7, so you'd better use JDK 7.

Hi Brian,

there's no GaelykCategory class anymore in Gaelyk. The Gaelyk shortcuts are
added using Extension Modules and are available everywhere (not only in
groovlets and templates).

Just remove all

use(GaelykCategory){
...

snippets from your code.

Hi all,
there is a small breaking change in task queue gaelyk api in latest gaelyk
2.0 snapshots. the overloaded left shift operator will now call
Queue.addAsync instead of Queue.add returning Future<TaskHandle>.
If you are just bypassing the returned value like in following snippet:

Is there a direct link to the 2.0 snapshot? I'm encountering the same
issue after first completing a hello world version of the GAE on 1.7.7
following the GAE tutorial then tried to use the Gaelyk 1.2 template
project with 1.7.7 and encountering the same AddResponse error.

If you're using gradle gaelyk plugin all should work as long as you put
your class in src/main/groovy/mypackage/ (not src/main/mypackage as you
stated) and import it in your groovlet.

I'm affraid that your problem has nothing to do with gaelyk guice plugin. :)

Marcin, Thanks for answering that question for me. I was checking because I
have not been able to get injection to work. I think I may be having a
classpath issue. I have a MyService.groovy class in src/main/mypackage/ I
keep getting errors about the groovlet not being able resolve my class :)

If you followed the instructions on plugin's github page it should be
installed. You can verify it works by following the instructions and
renderng an injected string from a groovlet.

Gaelyk Guice plugin is a binary plugin and the
gaelykListInstalledPlugins command only works with packaged plugins and

Thanks for making it clear that GAE always use its own runtime. Although it
doesn't fix the problem, at least I get same result/error in development
and production.

I have the following combination, now error in development.
GAE 1.7.6
Java 1.6
gaelyk 1.2
groovy 1.8.6

I think GAE 1.7.6 and Java 1.6 are fine.

Worth noting that no matter what version of the GAE SDK you bundle in your
application, GAE will use its own platform runtime instead.
So till we release 2.0, you should use the latest Gaelyk snapshot, or
sticking to the released 1.2 might still work even with the latest SDK.

I downgrade appengine sdk to 1.7.4, there are still errors. I upgrade to
1.7.6, there are still errors.

Yup, Google just updated their GAE infrastructure, and removed the
deprecated Search API from their runtime, which was still referenced by the
version of Gaelyk you were using, hence why all of a sudden some of our
apps stopped working.
