Joanna has made a lot of headlines recently here in the UK.

And she carries her 63 years very gracefully:

I hope that I look that good when I reach her age.

Of course the New Avengers' Purdey was never
a match for Emma Peel (we never caught sight
of the Honey Blackwell character here in the
US), but as Patsy she was Absolutely Fabulous!

Perhaps because it was Honor Blackman...

Thanks, Chip

Honor (b 1927) was the first Avengers heroine;

Diana Rigg (b 1938) the second; and

Joanna (b 1946) the third.

I saw Honor in a play 3 years ago when she was nearing 80 and she
still looked great!

In looks, Diana used to be my favourite but, from her photos, she has
now aged considerably.

I've never seen Absolutely Fabulous - I don't watch much TV.

Hi, Bryan:

You've overlooked Linda Thorson, who was the
immediate replacement, as Tara King, to Emma
Peel in the original Avengers series.

Curiously Joanna Lumley played a role in the
Bond flick, On Her Majesty's Secret Service,
the one featuring George Lazenby with Bond
"girl" Diana Rigg. Of course Honor Blackman
played Pussy Galore in Goldfinger, so Linda
is the only female lead of the original
Avengers series not to appear in a Bond movie.

Yes, indeed, Chip

I did overlook Linda Thorson

But then she was very overlookable.
