CUPCAKE honey?
Has everyone heard of Cupcake by now? In case you haven't it Android
now OTA. (Over the air) update. I have head rumors all over the net
about what day it is being released [From Jan 8 to the 31]. Guess we
will just wait and see.
I one the other hand finnally after 2 months got my G1 android
replacement.
PERSISTENCE PAYS OFF: Now I have 2 Androids for the price of
one....And now I am gonna root one of them!
Here's what happened if your interested, Got the bronze, could not see
the keyboard in ambient lighting. Called with in the 14 day remorse
period (back in Nov) and TMO gave me a confirmation number for a shiny
new Black Android. They also tell me it is on back order, but in the
mean time, I may get billed for another (the replacement) but I will
get a credit upon return of the Bronze Android. They gave me
instructions where to mail the Old Bronze Android after I receive the
new one. I wait PATIENTLY. I called about a month later to inquire,
still on back ordrer.
2 weeks ago, my daughter samsung t819 gets a puk code so I have to
call to get it fixed, afterwards I inquire about my replacement. They
then tell me there is no such order. I don;t give up easy. My
conirmation code was NO GOOD! Isn't that what confirmation codes are
for, to prove a transaction took place! After 2 hours, Bitching about
how many years I have been with them (10) and how many kids (6
including hubby) phones I have bought, and many managers, I was
offered a new contract it (only extends my orginal one by 2 months.)
and they TOLD ME TO KEEP THE ORGINAL bronze g1 android for free. I
made them repeat it 3 times, I just didn;t understand why they did not
want it back. There was a rumor last week in the android community
that the g2 was coming out at the end of Jan 09, but that turned out
to be BOGUS.
So, now I sit here with my bronze and black androids. Since my son
has one too, (black), I took the brown bottom off and put it on the
new black android. Now I have a brown and black android.(and a black
and brown one). Anyhow, I just found out that you can root RC30 to a
modded version. If interested go to

If for some reason its disappeared, the orginal links are

anyhow.
I can still use the old android (the one I am gonna root) with free
voip and it will become a house phone. Wifi, market place and even
sms still works, although sms needed a few APN tweaks.
Oh and thank you Tmobile!
Not a techie, just a android freak,
