There's something in the shading and the smug, self-satisfied expressions
that make your husky drawings unique.

Smug, self-satisfied?

I've never gotten that feeling from them. They've always struck me as having
a simple, happy expression. Dogs enjoying themselves.

Not all of the expressions are of self-indulgence, but many of them are.
Here's a couple of the more extreme examples of what I'm talking about:

And (may not be f.a.m material, so use discretion when clicking):

While some of the drawings have a certain amount of innocence, overall,
I see more than just happy-go-lucky dogs in his drawings. Somehow, the
atmosphere of the rest of the pictures influences the way I see new
pictures.

I think "self-satisfied", "self-indulgence" are not bad descriptions, at
least I imagine some of that when I draw them. But ayone who looks at them
can imagine anything they want.

Hmmm.. To be honest, I'd call those expressions more 'devious' and
'scheming'... but it's a matter of interpretation. I see where you get the
impression from though. I hadn't seen those before.

Well, the original artist has weighed in with his opinion, and that's
definitive... :)

I withdraw my comment.

This is a good example of what I meant by "anyone who looks at them can
imagine anything they want". I never would have imagined "scheming" or
"devious" myself! But I love the idea that different people will see things
their own way. If I think about it, I would say that is a vital element.
Your point of view might be unique.

I hereby officially declare that my official opinion is that my pictures can
"mean" anything YOU want them to!
