Hey all-

Long time no talky. There are a couple things I wanted to powwow with
you about. Year-end Android Eats Records sale, and a call for input
on the release format for the next FL album...

1)"The Year-End, Need-More-Space-in-my-Apartment, Buy-One-Get-One-Free
Holiday Android Eats Records Sale." Buy a Fulton Lights album and get
your choice of a)a second copy of the album to give to a friend
(holidays coming up, people!), or b)either a free t-shirt or free
poster (both of which are hot and guaranteed to make you and/or your
wall look better). When you place your order you can just shoot me an
email and let me know what you'd like. Offer good through the end of
the year and while supplies last. www.androideatsrecords.com

As posted on the FL myspace page (www.myspace.com/andrewspencermusic):

2)Things keep scootin' right along over here. The album is taking
shape, it's kind of at that point where, as when a house or building
is being erected, you can begin to imagine what it eventually might
look like. (It looks fu@kin' sweet, you damn right.)

At different times I think about the process of writing and recording
as: cooking, painting, salads (salads?), and, apparently,
architecture. I am not afraid to rock a bad metaphor when called for.

As the album's recording moves into what I hope will be its third
trimester (note-- please add to above list: in utero gestation), I'm
starting to think about how this album might ultimately be released
unto the world. In these crazy, post-Radiohead-I-now-have-to-give-away-
every-fu@king-thing-that-I-slave-over days, I'd like to figure out
some way to release the album in a way that meets the following
criteria, in no particular order:

1)An artifact--something that is 100% the opposite of the mp3 in terms
of tactile pleasure derived from the good; and
2)That said, something that still allows people to listen as mp3 if
they want, which we know they do.

I don't know yet if this would be something I'd do on my own or with
Catbird or some other label (not quite far enough along with the album
to deal with any of that yet), but I am very interested to know the
thoughts of you who are interested in my music (have I thanked you
recently? Thank you.) and who have paid for it in the past even if
only by buying one mp3 off of iTunes.

I hope the call for input won't fall on deaf ears. Let me know what
you'd like the next Fulton Lights release to be like. Do you care if
it's just mp3s? Would you pay for some kind of unusual release in non-
CD form that still somehow provided mp3s? Would you pay a extra for
it? How much extra? I'm as lost in the digital wilderness as you are,
so I'm calling on you to help a brother out.

Thanks.
Andy
