Wow - it has happened again! Adding Free Talk Live's Saturday show
has worked wonders in just one book for another of our affiliates,
WGIR AM in Manchester, NH.
Before adding FTL, their Saturday nights were languishing at a ZERO
share. In January of this year, Program Director Angela Anderson
decided to give Free Talk Live a shot and added all three hours of our
live Saturday show. I just got the numbers from her today and was
blown away. Was it a fluke? We'll know more after the next book, but
fluke or not, there's no way to deny something great has happened for
WGIR. First she gave me the P12+ share, a 5.0 - pretty good - that
alone makes us the #1 talk show in the market. Then we drilled down
and discovered that Women 35-44 was a 33.3! That not only makes us
the #1 talk show with women 35-44, it also makes us the #1 program in
the market, clobbering the second place Soft AC WZID FM (the usual #1
dominator in the market). They only got a 11.1. So, according to
Arbitron's Spring '09 book, 1 of 3 Manchester women from 35-44
listening to the radio on Saturday nights were listening to Free Talk
Live.
The success story doesn't end there. We also shut out all the other
talk competition in the market! Normally, WGIR has to contend with
all the big Boston talkers: WBZ, WRKO, and WTKK. All three showed
ZEROS against Free Talk Live, in every demo.
Is your station still running a refeed or "best of" on Saturday
nights? Give your listeners a reason to "appointment listen" and add
Free Talk Live!
Finally, here's a link to our 1/2 page TALKERS ad appearing in the
September issue. We're celebrating our 50th affiliate by redesigning
the ads:
