old references for FSharp

F# the platform has changed much recently.
Some online content is out of date now and can be misguiding.

It would be good if old references contained a disclaimer to points to the F# foundation, which I guess is the most  updated/authoritative link.

I think the entire http://functional-variations.net (and http://functional-teaching.net) web site is now obsolete and so I’m tempted to close them altogether and just redirect these two to http://fsharp.org.

 

I copied the materials about teaching and research under fsharp.org already and I don’t think there is any other relevant material (but if someone else can check to see if there is something useful, that would be good).

 

It is a shame that none of the web casts work anymore. Perhaps we could try doing some using new versions of everything, that would be a great contribution :-)!

 

So, are there any objections to closing & redirecting the two functional-* sites?

I agree that it's better to have fewer canonical sources. When I was
first trying to get the fsharpbinding working for monodevelop I was
very confused by functional-variations because it was out of date!

Yes. Fewer well-publicized quality resources will do a better job promoting the language.
