frugosapalooza 2008

Frugosapalooza 2008

Overview

Brian Timoney:

What I'd like to have by the end of the week are some venues and
possible dates so everyone can check their calendar.

--Dan Huber is going to set up the Colorado Springs event.

--I'll set up the Denver logistics.

--Sean Gillies will handle the Ft. Collins meeting

--I've got a lead or two on Boulder, but if a local wants to take the
lead, that would be great.

Here are the desiderata for meetings as I see them--

1. Sometime between mid-Feb and early March

2. Tuesday or Wednesday night

3. A locale with a private/semi-private room

4. Wifi enabled

5. A venue serving adult beverages is preferred, but merely caffeinated
fallback options would work too.

Only as a last resort should we consider "meeting in one place (e.g.
office)/drinking afterwards in another place"; I find too often too many
folks are tempted to bolt after the technical material leaving only the
lushes slurring their acronyms amongst themselves.

But that's just my opinion.

So let's try and get some preliminary Date/Time/Place options up on the
board by the end of the week.

Thanks,

Brian

Any chance that day can be moved?

Summer might be a good time to meet in Jackson Hole. Not quite 'Front
Range', but a congenial location none the less.

Dave,
I want to stick to Brian's plan of back-to-back events, but let's
consider having another meetup later in the Spring or Summer at your new
office, yes?
Looks like Peter Batty will talk in Denver about some of the tech used
by his new startup. I'm going to talk about my new Python software
releases in Denver and here in the Fort. I'm curious to see what you're
