This Spring Break, Frontera de Salud is offering 15 students the
opportunity to spend 5 days in South Texas in a Spanish immersion and
community service learning environment. We will drive to Hidalgo county
Saturday, March 10 and will return to San Antonio Wednesday, March 14. The
mornings will be dedicated to intensive Spanish language courses, and the
afternoons will be spent performing home visits in the colonias. In the
evenings we will focus on cultural enrichment and will visit with local
promotores and physicians. Most costs will be covered. We will offer
transportation, lodging, and two meals per day as well as all educational
materials. We will have a few pre-trip meetings before Spring Break to
prepare for our time in South Texas and learn more about the culture. If
you are interested, we are having a short information session at *noon
tomorrow, Wednesday, January 11 in 2.020*. Attached is the application,
which is due Friday, January 20 at midnight. If you have any questions,
contact Kristy Riniker, Jillian Rushing, or Deborah Lee.
After the info session, please stick around if you are interested in
serving in an officer position and we will have a time for Q&A.
