I am making a personal appeal to the FRONTERA LIST to support this film project via KICKSTARTER:
A man reconciles his past nightmares by reuniting his shattered family in a mental asylum run by its own patients in Juárez, Mexico. Dead When I Got Here - Asylum from the Madness
I met Producer/Director Mark Aitken back in 2011 before he made his first trip from London to Juarez to explore this project. For several years before that, I had visited and learned about the work of Pastor Jose Antonio Galvan at the shelter for the homeless mentally ill people of Juarez.

Mark's film is great. I've been there at the asylum in the desert during a few of his filming sessions and Mark has spent many hours and days and months of his life, living there with the people and making this powerful story come alive. Read more about it at the Kickstarter page:

Dead when I got here- Asylum from the madnessThis man was an illegal Mexican in the US; locked up in San Quentin for murder; deported back to the streets of Juárez and finally dumped nearly dead on arrival in a mental asylum in the desert run by its own patients. Assuming her father to be dead, the man's daughter in LA hasn’t seen him in 22 years. She discovers him on a trailer for this film, now managing the asylum. This is a story of survival from the world’s most violent city to the warm heart of a reunited family.
