Con un triple homicidio registrado esta tarde en la colonia El
Granjero, se rebasó la cifra de 3 mil homicidios en esta ciudad en lo
que va del año 2010, de acuerdo a datos oficiales emitidos por la
Fiscalía General del Estado.
En cuanto a lo ocurrido la tarde de este martes, se dio a conocer que
tres personas fueron atacadas a balazos en las calles Guayule y
Jitomate, aproximadamente a las 13:00 horas.
Dos de ellas quedaron sin vida en ese cruce mientras otro más fue
llevado a recibir atención médica a bordo de un vehículo Ford Probe,
pero dejó de existir a la altura de la calle Muérdago y Jilotepec, de
la colonia Infonavit Ampliación Aeropuerto.
Cifras oficiales señalan que en enero 127 hombres y 16 mujeres
perdieron la vida en circunstancias violentas. En febrero fueron 147 y
9, respectivamente.
En marzo asesinaron a 240 varones y a 28 personas del sexo
femenino,mientras que en abril 205 y 15, se dio a conocer.
Para el mes de mayo fueron 262 hombres y 17 mujeres, y en junio se
contabilizaron 313 y 29.
Para el siguiente mes los asesinatos bajaron un poco en relación al
mes pasado, pues se registraron 291 de hombres y 25 de mujeres, pero
en agosto la violencia se recrudeció y se contaron las muertes de 339
varones y 41 mujeres.
Septiembre terminó con 238 y 44, mientras octubre fue el mes más
violento del año porque fueron asesinadas 48 mujeres y 352 hombres.

Here's my attempt to tally up the official attorney general numbers
reported this afternoon in El Diario. Interestingly, several months
show LESS than previously reported and others show more. The numbers
for December are not given in the article, but as of this morning,
they were at about 101, so they are at least 104 now, though I don't
have the breakdown by gender. If these numbers are reported
correctly, and if my calculator added them up correctly, the death
toll from homicide now in Juarez is about 3,096 for this year. I am
not sure this will be the final breakdown for the day's reporting, but
will check and report back.
