> Do you have ideas, questions, or concerns about how St. Cloud can focus on and benefit from its unique location on the Mississippi River?
> Join your community members on Saturday October 25, 2008 at the St. Cloud Civic Center to share your ideas, and get involved in making them a reality.
> At this session, we want to hear your ideas and begin to create a local plan for how we can take advantage of our location on the Mississippi River in order to become a stronger community. You will have an opportunity to break out into smaller groups to share ideas and discuss ways you can take action.
> The event is open to the public and will take place from 8:30 a.m. to 12 p.m. at the St. Cloud Civic Center. A continental breakfast will be provided. There is no charge, but we are asking everyone to sign up atwww.CommunityGiving.org<http://www.CommunityGiving.org> by October 22, so we can plan for supplies and breakfast. > A volunteer citizen’s group, Mississippi River Connections of St. Cloud, came together in May 2008 to build citizen involvement and connect all the players who can help St. Cloud become a vibrant river city. We’ve helped start the discussion by helping the Central MN Community Foundation and MN Waters host three informational workshops about the river. The first covered the Dubuque, IA story about how focusing on their riverfront revitalized their city; the second focused on the natural wonders that abound in our stretch of the Mississippi River, especially our fishery, our unique mussel population, and the unique scenic values; and the third addressed the $700 million of development projects planned or underway along the river. Now it’s the community’s turn to say what we want to see here in St. Cloud, our own “River City.” Please join us on Saturday, October, 25!
