Dear FOBB Members:
A new year begins and BBP has a new manager, Hope Howell. The Board
will meet with Todd, Hope and Sam Devine from Frankfort on January 5
at the park to get acquainted and discuss the future of BBP.
Signage for the Big Bone Trail is moving forward. The last seven
signs have been purchased and the choice of picture for those signs is
underway. If all goes well we hope to celebrate by reopening this
refurbished trail with its new signs in June.
Jerry Wilson, one of our members and a member of the Ohio Chapter of
Lewis and Clark, was successful last summer in gaining support from
the Ohio Chapter to purchase the Lewis and Clark sign. The money has
been sent and the pictures chosen for this particular sign. Much
thanks goes to the Ohio Chapter as well as the Rabbit Hash Historical
Society in their financial support of the signage project.
I hope to see all of you at the January 26th meeting in the
Burlington Library. We will meet in the conference room at 6:00 to pay
dues and vote for board members. This will be a short but important
meeting. Those who intend to vote as well as those who intend to run
for the board must be paid members. Cindy Schuster, our treasurer,
will be accepting dues that evening or they can be sent to our post
office box—FOBB PO Box 675 Union, KY. 41091.
May all of you have a good year in 2012 and may FOBB continue to move
forward in its commitment to educating the public about the historical
and pre-historical significance of the Big Bone valley and its park.
Happy New Year,
Pat Fox, President
