Subject: Middle East news sources?
Hi, I'm a regular reader of the Jordan Times
(http://www.jordantimes.com). I'd be interested to hear and see links
for other sources people rely on for news from the middle east. Many
thanks,

David

I like to look at Embassy websites for news and also their views and
official statements about what's going on.

For example, the US Embassy in Jordan
(http://amman.usembassy.gov/user/default.aspx) has press statements
from the Embassador.

And the Jordan Embassy in Washington, DC
(http://www.jordanembassyus.org/new/index.shtml) is very good at
listing news about daily life and events from Jordan, from the
Jordanian community in the US, and speeches that the King has given.

When I want to keep up-to-date with current events in the Middle East,
I try to scan a variety of sites and sources so that I can have a sense
of the way an issue is being framed by each and ultimately draw my own
conclusions based on number of different perspectives.   Besides the
Jordan Times, I might look at the New York Times, Washington Post, BBC,
Al Jazeera, and Haaretz (which is an Israeli site you can find in
English at www.haaretzdaily.com).   I also sometimes go to
http://www.onlinenewspapers.com/ where you can find links to newspapers
available in languages and countries all over the world.
