Thanks to a generous gift from Mahen and Sepali, we have our saw! Due to our electrical situation, we settled on a Makita cordless circular saw, which can be charged up today with our gas generators. The Makita saw will match the Makita cordless drill so generously given last year by Kate D.
In a few weeks, when our solar electricity is installed, the Hermitage will be able to run normal power tools for carpentry, minor building projects, and repairs. Such a carpentry workshop is considered good practice for a monastery, making us more frugal, and less dependent on others.
We would accept tools such as an 8' x 15' plastic shed, saw horses, utility shelves and workshop storage systems, a portable workbench, and the standard, basic set of power tools, i.e. a table saw, sliding miter saw. If you have such things to give away ... your older tools still in good working condition, or a hobby you no longer pursue, or things you find in a yard sale ... please contact
