I read that you were supposed to contact the monastery before arriving. Is this true and if so how would I do it? Could I call or do I e-mail? Don't know either. Seriously want to know cuz I want to go end of May. I'm from US and need all info I can get. Nervous and scared. Can someone be kind enough to give me some answers? Thanks.

Hi Nicole, Here is the official, website for Thamkrabok. Plus contact information. You will never have a better investment than this one for yourself, for your life. Please feel free to ask questions on this right up to the time you go and on your return. The contact details appear to be gone of the home page and the Monastery page in the website. The are however in here on a PDF file (page 39 or press end of document) worth reading which is on the home page. Thamkrabok Monastery : A Place of Sajja By Phra Hans Piyathammo Ulrich Kampfer (6MB PDF file) I have copied and pasted them for you. Please read all the info and look through the gallery as well as look through the posts on this site. Good luck Nicole,

Warmest Audrey

Oh i forgot to answer your email- you don't have to warn them of your arrival as long as they are not on an annual walk about , one thing i might suggest is getting a taxi from the airport - But maybe they prefer to know ,  i did call them , but i cannot remmeber how i got it , oh yes Vince Cullan - he will answer , i;ve never noticed thamkrabok group emails before
