hi all ,well things have been going well for me ,sort of , im back on
track but finding it hard.
do you think that the monastery would take me in as an ordained monk
for 6 months at least.?
Im thinking of going back ,but i dont know whether they would take me
in because i broke my sajja more than once .I did the seven sticks and
prayer and have been good since ,but i must admit i carry around some
guilt ,i feel like i have let more than a few people and monks
down. Its just that im thinking the time i stayed there was no where
near long enough for me. any one with any thoughts i would
appreciate...Metta

Pete, Thrilled to hear your frame of mind is lifting. Cause there is always
hope. If we try, we succeed. Stay fighting. The first bit of a bump that
comes along ride it don't fall for it. You should talk to the knowing ones
in the monastery about ordaining. I think it is a great idea, take it month
by month. Understand and do not judge those around you. We have mostly
caused our own faith even if we have had difficult pasts. We are still in
control of our own actions. Now stay in touch. Find peace in your heart
and mind. That is my wish for you.
Warmest vibes motivation and hope are being sent to you.

Hi Pete, glad things are OK,at least. As Stuart says Mae Shee Rhambhai
is the best person to talk to,but If your 'clean' and stable at
present and go into it with the Right intentions I'd be suprised if
they would have any problems.Things do and have changed, since I was
there though so do 'Take it to the Top'.
Just remember that being a Monk is no easy 'sweep' whichever way you
look at it,mentally, socially even physically-its gonna be very
differant to what you're used to.I'm certain if you enter into the
experience in the correct way and with the correct expectations,it
will glean many benefits for you (how could it not?!).
I myself have (as yet) no experience here but my own observations, but
I doubt many of the Western Monks would disagree (?).I wish you all
the best, just dont rush into anything without giving it full
consideration and consultation.

Hi Pete,
Good to see things are looking up for you. As for the monk idea - sounds
good. It'd certainly give you something to get/stay clean for. If I were
in your shoes and thinking of ordaining I would talk to the ex-Phra Gary
about it as he would certainly be able to tell you all the in's and out's of
it - having just done it. The Metta Farm also sounds like a brilliant idea
- I'd definately have spent a few days there just chillin' after TKB, had it
been up and running. You're a big strong boy, I'm sure there's lots you can
do to help, if you're in the right frame of mind.
Good luck Pete, stay steady.
Andrea.
