Heroin has never been cheaper, more abundant and stronger than at
present (my timing always was lousy!).A freind of mine (who just
happens to be a 'using' junkie) tells me he scored (near enough) half
a gramme of apparant quality for 15 Quid day t'other day!!!

Afghanistan is now supplying 90% of the Worlds Heroin and its
flooding in at an increasing and alarming rate-they are actually
currently producing 30% more than the global demand requires (mad
innit??!!),which is fine because its stores 'nice'.
I remember the 'droughts' in the first few years of this Millenia and
I remember what an (even more) miserable time us junkies had in trying
to 'cop' anything, let alone anything decent. Not only were they making
a concerted effort at Crop Irradication and trying to persuade the
Afghani farmers to grow something else (melons just dont compare-its
laughable!),but the Post-9/11 paranoia made Border Security a Big
issue in terms of practicalities-the 'stuff' just wasn't getting
through and what was was 'stamped all over' and basically 'Shit'!
Now it couldn't be more opposite-The Yanks and the Brits have pulled
out of the southern region which the Talliban now completey control
and growing is more rampant than ever. They've also got their heads
around the International Drug Trafficking Business and the amount of
money involved doesn't even bear thinking about-its actually really
'scary' when you think where all this could lead! They can afford to
do a lot more than well-equip their army, now ,and I'm certain they
will.

But the real point is: Heroin is now itself a 'Weapon of Jihad'.
What could is more insidious and destructive to Western Society than
encouraging its use and supply and watching it slowly creep its way
into into every Dark Corner of every civilised town and city. They must
be 'over the moon' with this one!!-9/11 pales into
insignificance....That itself would be worth funding but the irony
is,at the same time, rather than having to be funded,it also generating
unspeakable piles of cash('Sweet as a Nut'!).You've gotta hand it to
them-flying them planes into the Twin Towers with the whole World
watching (literally) was impressive, but this is really 'classy'!!! A
slow 'creeping' form of Rot and Death which is so clever and
insidious, most people dont even see it for what it is
...An Act of Terrorism.

Next time you see the ever more familiar sight of coffins coming off
airplanes with flags draped over them being greeted by heart-broken
families (I will use the word 'Respect' but its rings 'hollow' given
the futilty of it all-The Poor Sods!), think of the number of Hopeless
junkies over-dosing with the needles still hanging out of their arms
and those 'living in Hell' and dying slowly.Feel free to use the word
Victim.

Its a 'fucked-up' situation over there and there is no easy
solution. The 'Open Wound' that is Afghanistan has turned really nasty
and 'pussy' and the 'septaceamic' infection is now contamitinating the
entire system...I'm sure the Politicians have plenty evasive
'Bullshit' and doubt they would willingly agree or 'shoulder' any
blame.
I hope they enjoy their Christmas Recess and Single Malt Whisky(s)...

It's incredible how these things play out, you couldn't make it up could you.

Another alarming fact is that the Taliban actually operates at a healthy profit, the same thing happened in Ireland. One war ends but from what I hear another one has begun on the streets of Dublin, London and Liverpool!!

Yes,John.How you doin' 'Geez'?

..The Worrying Thing: What are They going to do with all this
Stockpiled Strong,Pure Quality,Smack they've got stashed in their
favorite cave,and all 'bouldered-up' for Posterity!!!!!??-Yes The 30%
'over-due' is what I'm talking about..
...My Guess:They'll use it to 'force-down' the 'Market-Price' of Smack
(..already efficiantly started!!),thus making it more damaging and
more accessabile to ALL and ANY! ('Corker' move!-thats what I'd do if
I where they!),and at the same time, not worrying too much about The
Profit!!-Why should they??..THIS IS Fuckin' JIHAD!!!-They may even
'chuck-it-out' AT 'Cost' or (feasibly) even Less!-Just to 'Fuck-Us-
UP!!'...and IT WILL (..I regrettfully expect!)

..though this is a horribly Karmic Act(..and 'They' will
'Pay'!!)!..Dont blame 'them' completely!!!...if someone invited
themselves into my 'back-yard' (or Yours?) and started letting off
bombs and shooting at my freinds and family (For whatever reason!)-I'd
be inclined to wrap a rag round my head and 'tool-up' ("....I'll take
the AK-47 and portable RPG,if thats OK?")........are you with me on
that?
..and 'We' ('The West') Will Pay also!..This Situation has not been
'handled' properly or decently, especially given our Self-Regarded
'Maturity',which we take for granted and really Do Believe!!!(..Pah-
Bollox!!)!

..and what about the 'shed-loads' of Cash-Friggin' 90% 0f the ENTIRE
Global Heroin Market ALL going ultimately into One Undeniably 'Mad-
Fuckers' Account!!!!!!!!!!!!!!.....need I say more!!!

I'm in no way 'Stickin'-up for them (taliban)....just the trying to
interpret it the way it is...(as always)-(...F*cked if I Know what the
Solution is!....)

..Be Scared!..be Very Scared!!!.

Metta.Mfk

P.s.Hey,I have a very active imagination (I'll be the first to admit)
and lets all hope I'm Very Wrong!!
(Sorry about the Unexpigated Swearing-...I DO Believe there IS a time
and a place(for that/this sort of language-to make The Point!!!)

Hi Bill,

I agree with you that the greatest gift of all - The Dharma - should be free.

The wonderful, and for some of us at least, life-saving treatment provided at Wat Tham Krabok is free but the monastery still asks addicts to pay for their own food.

The wonderful, and for some us at least, life-changing silent retreats at Wat Suan Mokkh are provided free but a fixed-price donation is required from all retreatants.

When Martine Batchelor was asked to teach at a retreat exclusively for 'Thamkrabokers' at The Barn, she gave her time freely and paid her own travel expenses from France to Devon in March this year.

Kevin Griffin, who lives in Los Angeles, will be in London in May next year for a Drugs and Alcohol conference.  He is also giving his time freely to teach at a retreat exclusively for 'Thamkrabokers' and is paying his own travel expenses.  Of course, Dana will be offered to Kevin as it was to Martine.

The cost of attending a retreat at The Barn is heavily subsidised by the Sharpham Trust in order to make meditation and mindful living available to everyone.  In fact, bursaries are available to the low or un-waged.

So, The Dharma may be free but food, travel and electricity isn't.

Look after yourself Bill.

Best wishes to all.

With Metta,

Vince

I think that unfortunatly wars have to be paid for, right and wrong get blurred and seemingly morally corrupt actions get justified for "the cause"

This situations is the modern version of sacking a city for Booty, booty would also include slaves and the right to rape and murder the locals. Sick things happen and have always happen during conflict and this rise in heroin is yet another example.

It's heart breaking but also complex and is far more subtley paradoxical that we have time for here.

One thing I will say is that Islam is not to blame, I think theres so much miss infomation about the Islamic faith it makes me so angry when I hear it blamed for all ills known to man kind.

Mtf, I'd love you to listen to some audio course I have on world history and the history of religion. I live learning all this stuff

Really Great to hear from you Bowery-Hey-less of the 'normal human
beings'-You speak for youself!!!
Sounds like your doing just fine-all that 'crap' is quite normal and
it really does take a long time to cool and calm down and even
then, ever so gradually.I think 6 months was a bit of a 'landmark' in
that respect for me (if I remember). That should be just after
Christmas for you.It only gets better, from now on in.It IS 'Fkn Hard
Work',Bowery! If it wasn't it wouldn't have the reputation it has.The
mistake that most people make when they're cleaning-up is that they
dont 'stay the course' (obviously). You cant let that
happen, now.Nothing else really matters-just take everything else as it
comes and concentrate on being very 'single-minded' in staying
Clean.You're doing Good!Best Wishes,Sweetheart.

John-I'd love to take you up on your offer with the audio books.I was
interested when you mentioned it before, but had and still have a few
memory and computer issues-this pile of crap is driving me mad and any
day now I'm going take the tower to the shop and get it sorted or
throw it out the window (Keith Moon Style-Tee Hee).I will be in touch
on that one.Nice one.

Best Wishes ALL.

I'm inclined to agree with Bill -

Being a Catholic although not a fundamental 'christian' as the yanks would describe one - I'm finding the continuous harping on 'using' etc not to be in union with my own recovery.

I'm an ex-alcoholic who discovery sobriety through the grace of God and the power of the 12 steps.  I've left a lot of my past life behind me - and must stick to arigid programme of honesty.

I'd be dishonest to myself I didn't find a lot of what I'm reading here to be full of shit - So I gracefully withdraw my presence thanks,

Not saying I didn't enjoy some of what I saw and heard and we willingly put up the money to send people to TMK.  I believe in it, but theres a time to let go,  I reached that now

May God bless one and all with his strength when you face difficulties - always remember slogans wont keep you sober, its the first drink. drug that does the damage

Cheers and godbless
Tommy

Agreed ALL and apologies for causing a 'Storm in a Tea-cup'!!
(..Ooops,I think I've been here before..)

The reason why I'm apologising is that the whole situation has been
horibbly misconstrued (twisted, even) and now people are saying that
somehow this is interferring with the prime concern of this site-which
is supporting people through De-tox and Recovary.Apologies again! (You
know very well I'd never do that on purpose!)
The intention of my little 'peice' on the Current state of the Heroin
Market was to bring it to the forefront of peoples attention.IT IS
VERY ALARMING! If you wish to regard it as 'Bullshit' or a 'Conspiracy
Theory' then that of course is your prerogative-we all have opinions
that we are entitled (here and anywhere).Do familiarise yourself with
some facts first,though.

...The Truth is 'Light',NOT 'Darkness'...

-There is nothing imaginary about the fact that The Taliban are
currently (as we speak) 'tipping' tons of high, quality Heroin onto the
'Streets' every day (.of the entire world-Yes,90%).Its a 'known
fact'!!
-I personally had to pay 3 or 4 times the value for a 'hit' 18 or so
years ago and now, apparantly its 'cheap as chips' and 'Strong'.It is
'reflecting' on the 'Street'!!!
-I'm certain that they (taliban) are doing it with a smile on their
face
-...and the fact that they have cornered the entire market and have
complete control of the price means they can use the 'glut' (yes the
30%) to bring the price down. You dont have to be an economist to work
that out.

.That is a summary of what I said...
...If anyone disagrees here,on any of these points, would they please
do me the great honour of doing it on a 'point4point' basis and
addressing me directly (and preferebly civily)-I'd be most
interested. That is a summary of what I said.

..Of course you could just forget about it and not worry about it too
much-that would be the best course for those people not in a position
to do much about it (most),and especially those in the early stages of
Recovary-dearest apologies and Metta to you guys.

..Of Course this will lead to more addicts on the 'Street',and more
ultimately de-toxing at TKB ,and posting here-ultimately (and
hopefully). So I guess IT is our 'business'.

It seems that the subject of Afghanistan has ecscalated into 'Dark
Chaos',since I first broached the subject here a few days ago,and that
this is being 'mirrored' in real time/real life...I did say it is a
horribly,Karmic Situation.
We can ignore it but we cant avoid it!

I have tried to bring this to your attention without any mention of
countries or politics-we're a few decades late for blame and planting
will only aggrevate the situation, but it seems that since my first
post on this subject a few days ago,President Obama has committed
30,000 MORE troops (and the Brits 500)....so at least one person is
taking me seriously.....

I dont really want to say anything more on this subject (and hopefully
wont).

Greatest Apologies (once again)
Love,Peace and Metta to ALL.
MFK

P.s.I sincerly hope that no-one ever 'unsubscribes' over one of my
Posts-that is not the intention and I would feel extremely 'bad'.

P.P.s..in retrospect,perhaps I could have 'worded' it better-It was a
Full Moon (as I said)...more Apologies and 'nuff said.

Hey Mate!-No apologies necessary (they all belong to me!!) and No
Worries at all!! Thanks for taking the time and trouble to say
so...Best Wishes,Freind.

..Vince,if ever my Posts go a bit 'wayward' and touch on topics or
whatever I shoudn't or,in any way mis-represent,or are
'peppered' (unnecessarily) with foul language (..I'm almost
'expecting' that one!!)-Iam kindly requesting a polite 'tap on the
shoulder' before too much harm is done.It will be gracefully and
compliantly recieved (of course).

..having said that-we havent had a 'rumpus' on the board for a little
while and its nice to see a little 'action',dont you all think :) mfk.

Just to clarify my position, if anyone cares :).

I stand by my own views and don't accept them as being "shit", however my views are secondry to the recovery of the collective who use this forum.

This is ultimatly a support group and not a debating society, I hope we don't loose anyone who contributes as we have a rich pool of views which can only be a good thing.

'Hear Hear'-Spot on,John.

..what I originally intended as a 'persective report' on the alarming
escalation of consequences on a subject I do happen to know a bit
about ,'from ALL angles'-having given a large part of my life to it
(I'm not gonna 'harp-on',dont worry),I didnt really expect anyone to
'Disagree',as I was only presenting you with some freely available
facts.Admitadely I got a bit carried away and over-enthusiastic with
some of the imagary and wording and I reckon' thats what 'gee'd a few
of you up-but that 'me',eh?!...I'm still blaming The Moon!!

My advice to all you addicts out there-'Know Thine Enemy'-I'm sure I
dont have to explain why I'm saying that..

..you're not getting any more apologies out of me and I'm DEFINATELY
DONE!!!!!

Metta (always)

dont blame the taliban, blame the money hungry gangstars who are
selling the shit on our streets. when was the last time u saw a dude
with a towel on his head sporting an ak pitching smack on ur local
street corner. yes in the past they controlled opium production and at
this time at least they controlled the ammount produced to some
extent. it is infact since the fall of the taliban that opium
production has rocketed. and another thing it is not only the streets
of Dublin Liverpool and other local citys that are suffering from this
problem. Iran for exapmle is ravaged to a greater extent by all this
cheap herion etc. and really WTF? does the price of a hit have to do
with this fourm. Its not like its info we dont already know and some
of us could do with out thinking about at the moment. why not rant
about something that might actually be of benefit to people in
recovery rather than the price of a hit and how bad ur timing is on
missing said price.
GET A GRIP MAN its old news

(WARNING:Contains Graphic Imagary of Drug Use Ect.)

Hi Ian.Nice to hear from you and I hope you're Keeping Well,Mate.

I was hoping we'd laid this one to rest but I did sort of 'lay down
the gantlet' in saying I would be happy to defend my original post on
a 'point4point' basis so 'Sorry John,I know this not a debating'-
you're quite right!! I will say, this is an important issue and any
further dissection could only further shed the 'Light of Truth',which
I believe to be a good thing and was my only intention to begin with.

-The purpose of my 'peice' was NOT to plant "blame" on anybody-not
the Taliban,nor the yanks,nor the brits,nor the gangsters,the afghani
farmers nor the Junkies. It was merely to highlight the current (and
escalating) Situation (-for the benefit of those who are less
interested and may not find the time to 'cover' the ground.Anyone else
doesnt have to read it and should perhaps Stop Here.I just happened to
be interested (meself).

-Since the Taliban fell (in 2001),it has in fact Re-grouped (about 5
years ago) and is now operating to unspeakable profit. They've 'muscled-
in' on the growers and there's not much anyone can do about it.And yes
production has "Rocketed"!

-Its not just the City's of "London,Dublin,Liverpool and not just
towns and Urban areas-we're talking 90%-we're talking GLOBAL and
EVERYWHERE-its ALL theirs! (Until recently global supply was split
between 4 areas-The Golden Crescent (Aghganstan basically, but Pakistan
and Iran were involved in transit, processing and distribution),The
Golden Triangle (Our 'old freind'),South America and Mexico (which
supplied the West Coast of the States, mainly)
....Afghanistan now holds the Monopoly (90%) and thats relatively
recent.

-as for the 'Street Price' (..someone else said whats that got to do
with it?)..Well (I think) it has a wholelot to do with it.Not only is
it proof (that I can see) of the situation, but price and abundance of
supply with any product, and dare I say especially 'smack' with its
unique 'hook'(-a bloody salesman's dream) is going to effect
Consumption and to a great deal....£15 for half a gramme-that would be
enough to get me AND my mates 'out of trouble' until the next 'hit'
turns up,which it will do much quicker' cos its much easier to
get ..and Strong as f*ck.The Strength,I think is also an
issue...nothing like a nice strong batch to really reach-up and 'grab
you by the collar',eh? (I remember that one and will anyone
disagree?).Ultimately and undeniabely it means more Junkies on the
Streets-how is that NOT Important????

-Your also Right about the Topic,it probably is best avoided in the
early stages of Recovary.I Just happened to be very interested and
wanted to 'share my knowledge'.I really couldn't think of a more
appropriate place to discuss this.
Sorry about the 'ranting t'other night (-I dont really want to 'rant'
about anything-most 'unskilful').....But I Will say this-on this site
we're ALWAYS going to be talking about 'using' and Drug-Use...AND if
we cant do it here,Where (The Fuck) should we do it??? I hope the
Warning I put at the top of the page has covered any disclusions.

Thanks Ian for your input and for giving this important topic an
opportunity for further discussion.

..I dont want to come acroos as the sort of person who just HAS to
have the 'Last Word' (well,I did start it I suppose),so I'm going to
give that honour to Bill Bloomer (Howz that Elephant,Bill? :)-Hope
you're Well,Mate),and I hope he wont mind me quoting a 'real gem' from
his initial response to this discussion-

"............reaction to sensation is the cornerstone of the fear
based consumer world."

...Which I think just about somes this entire discussion up.....;)

wow! still on this topic eh.for a something that ruffled quite a few
feathers it seems to be gettn a lot of play. One thing about this
forum i always liked was i always felt it was a place u can come n
just let loose the maddness in me head whatever it may be at the time.
so obviously whats good for me is good for anyone.i know where u were
goin with this man and its all good. yea it twisted me guts at first
glance but u know what, thats MY crap. obviously if something effects
me i gotta take alook at why that is n hopefully be able to do a bit
of inside work. the fact is life aint fair n the world isnt going to
cater to me n me issues so i dont expect this forum to always be a
happy announcemt of darma retreats! topics r just that topics and if i
find one distasteful or getn me reved up i can simply chose to leave
it alone OR rant about it...thats the beauty of this lil place...sorta
like Vegas, lols "whats said here, stays here" everyone here is on
completely different chapters in this big book of life so theres noway
we all see things the same. i personally find it helpful to have u
cats all chime in with different opinions on a range of subjcts. its
almost like a bit of safety net when i see somethng here that charges
me up for betr or worse cuz it makes me aware of how im feeling an
forces me to look at why. now this is just me but connecting with me
own personal feelings is somethng i had filed away for such a long
time i constantly have to address it now if i wana move forward. mfk,
i dontthink u owe anyone an apology we are all adults;lols(well in
age) an we all gonna have our own "take" on things i value this forum
for what it is n would hate to see it turn into a censored bit of bs.
so i hope everyone continues to spill the good the bad an the ugly an
if i find im not diggin ur post i will just talk shite about u to me
dog! lols HAVE A GREAT DAY EVERYONE.hey man i love to invite u to me
mas for christmas since u seem to have a knack for clearing a room out
with a few words!lols..and now i put the duct tape on me own
face..over n out~bowerygirl

Nice One Bowery-another 'belter'!! What a strangely balanced opinion
you have for someone 'fresh out the pan',on lots of things not just
this 'crap'-Thats really 'cool'.!!
I liked what you said about the variety of postings we get and their
'tolerance'-what a remarkarbly spiritually-mature observation.Nice One
(again)
..(Tee Hee)-Thanks for the invite,Bowery but I'm cooking Turkey here
this year and I've already ordered it.Maybe Next
Year???...Thanksgiving sounds a 'barrel 'o laughs' the way you've put
it these past few...
Nice One (again,again).Mfk.x
