Hi all,
First a hearfelt thanks to our management team from last weekend, Dave,
Brendan, Clive, Paul, Don, Ross and Amanda. Special thanks to Marileze for
her totally excellent bacon and egg butties that were a welcome treat when
the sailors and support crews returned to shore.
There's more sunshine and fair weather on the way this weekend. Some of our
sailors are heading off to race at the Kohimarama Sail Auckland Regatta.
Good luck out there!

*Summer Series ... the results so far!*
Some results are attached. The Opti and Starling series are accurate, but
we're missing a few of the 'new recruits' from the Open. Be sure your
results will be added for next time. The Open fleet is scored using a
handicap system base on the Portsmouth Yardstick formula. Murray you had an
outstanding day on Sunday, well done ! Oliver has a strong grip on the Opti
series, with Joe sailing only just behind followed by Sam in Slime. It's
very tight at the top of the Starling fleet with Hamish, Logan and Jake
separated by a point each. Thanks to Brendan for putting the effort in on
the scoring system and for his excellent work out there as our PRO.
*FBYC T-Shirts*
A reminder that these will be on sale on Sunday, please bring a cheque if
you are not already a proud owner.
*Coming soon ...*
*Advance warning : Defence of the Manukau Shield on Easter Sunday
*French Bay YC are the holders of the Manukau Shield which is an event
raced between all the Manukau sailing clubs. This year's host is Weymouth
Yacht Club and Race Day is Easter Sunday. If you've not made plans for
Easter please consider coming over to Weymouth to defend our title. All
classes welcome.
*O'Day on 19th February
*We'll be offering fun sails and signing up people for Adult LTS, and
possibly another HLTS at O'Day. Please spread the word to anyone you think
might be interested. It's a morning tide kicking off at 9am.
*French Bay Regatta 25/26th February
*Saturday will be points racing for our summer series, Sunday we will be
joined by the Zephyr Class and visitors from Maraetai, Torbay and
Glendowie. There'll be a big prize pool so make use of this weekend to get
some practice in.
*Cornwallis Adventure Sail, 4th March
*Coming up soon is our annual sail to Conrwallis. Sail down in the morning,
have a picnic at Cornwallis with those who've traveled down by car, then
sail back. It's a great day out for the family so make sure this date is in
the calendar.
See you at the weekend !
